The piece also features an Augmented Reality component that enables viewers to see ghosted constellation images and asterism on their devices throughout the day and night. Forty-two suspended mirrored renderings of animal constellations from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres will reflect light through transparent blue plexiglass with holographic vinyl stars denoting the constellations. With this work, which was specially commissioned by the City of Coral Gables, the artist explores her continued interest in constellations. The piece is the first technology-based work by the Miami-based artist who has been developing video content on people’s movements, interactions, and sense of community.
